Dredgen Yor, a Concept

This past month, I had the pleasure of working on a piece for a conceptual design contest held by Destiny lore YouTuber, MyNameIsByf. The idea was to create artwork that reflected your imagination of the legendary Dredgen Yor.

I'm honored to have Byf and his team pick my piece for the Top 10 pieces, and wanted to thank him for the opportunity to come up with this concept. Hoping to enter more of his contests in the future. Anyone who hasn't seen Byf's work, I highly recommend him. Good guy, and good teller for the Destiny lore.

Until next time, Per Audacia Ad Astra.
I'll see you starside.

When working on this piece, I remembered Dredgen Yor was confirmed to originally have been a Titan, so I kept him as this big guy and gave him large, heavy Hive bones as his armor. His Ghost has left him at this point, hence the lack thereof.

The original image didn't include the "Dredgen Yor's Rose" so it was painted in after the line work had been finished. It's easier to see the smaller details that were hidden in shadows of the completed piece.

A close up for fans of the Thorn hand cannon. And, yep, that's meant to be a rose printed Titan mark, as well as a Hive Thrall's skull as his knee pad. Titans love bashing heads in with their knees, so why not? Or old habits never die, perhaps.
